First and foremost, please allow me to introduce
myself; my name is Denny Lang, I am the C.E.O.
and
Fair Manager of the Erie County Fair in Hamburg ,
New York . I was recently elected the
IAFE Zone 1 Director. I am honored to serve the
zone and I hope that I can serve it as well
as
Dr. Howard Worts has for the last 3 years. I would
like to thank Greg Chiecko for agreeing
to
chair the membership committee, I am sure he will be
contacting you in the near future.
By
now you should have received the IAFE combined Zone
1 & 2 meeting registration materials.

The
meeting is scheduled for March 27th – 29th
in
Richmond , Virginia and will offer great
programming, networking opportunities and loads of
fun.
A
few highlights of the meeting are:

(1)
The business planning session,
presented by Penny Reeh, Executive Director of the
Texas Association of Fairs & Events, is a required
course in the IAFE Fair Management Institute and
qualifies for credit. That being said,
the session is open to all attendees, not
just Institute enrollees;
(2)
The
trip to The Meadows will include a tour and
information regarding the plans for the NEW State
Fair of Virginia site; |
(3)
The
program includes all aspects of the industry such
as; operations, customer service, marketing and
exhibits – it should prove to be a good, well
rounded meeting;
(4)
Richmond is a great city to visit with rich history,
shopping and museums.
Don’t forget your bowling shoes!!! Join us for the
Zone 1 & 2 IAFE Bowling for Dollars! Education
fundraiser (1 block from the hotel) on Friday, March
28th at 9pm .
