Carrol Burdick had been involved with the fair for 24 years and served as Director-in-Charge of Models and a member of the Grounds and Building Committee.  An avid exhibitor and model builder he established a permanent Pittsburg, Shawmut and Northern Railroad exhibit on the fairgrounds.  He earned the title of Chief Engineer and restored the private coach of Clara Higgins and Caboose #175.
